I'm afraid
you'll have to pan right again. This is the shore of the Lido as we approach the dock at Santa Maria Elisabetta rear the white dome. The hotel I'd reserved was about ten km down the island to the right I loved this place... so laid back, cool ocean breeze, sand everywhere. The ten km ride was no problem at all — the island is flatflatflat. |
More evidence of the tourist office lady's wisdom: locals living on the Lido leave their bikes at the dock when they go to work in the city. I guess they have some way of finding them too, when they come home in the evening.
With the island
being so flat, everyone on the Lido travells by bike. |

Tuesday, June 15 | Lido di Venezia to San Vito da Tagliamento, 89km | |||
My plan for the day was to leave to the east, riding along the beach, then heading north towards the Dolomites. First thing
was to retrace my I had a second
look at some of the beautiful villas. This is looking down one of the
little side canals. |
